How to Make a Complaint
We undertake to respond within 30 days. If the request or complaint will take longer to resolve, we will provide you with a date by which we expect to respond.
2. If the parties are unable to mutually resolve the dispute via written correspondence, then the complainant or The Proofreader may request that the unresolved aspects of the dispute be brought before the following Australian national mediation organisation:
Level 2, 229 Greenhill Road
Dulwich, South Australia 5065
Ph: +61 8 8379 2910
Fax: +61 8 8379 2650
In the case of mediation such as that outlined above, the expenses for mediation will be shared equally between both parties, within reason. While there is an expense attached to the mediation process for both parties, both parties agree on the logical reasoning for seeking mediation before proceeding to legal action as follows:
- Cost saving compared to legal proceedings.
- The opportunity to reach a more flexible solution than that offered by the uncontrollable outcomes of legal proceedings.
- Speedier resolution of the dispute than that available via legal proceedings.
- Greater control over the outcome than that offered by legal proceedings, meaning that the resolution of the dispute is more likely to be honoured by the Parties.
- Greater privacy and confidentiality than that offered by legal proceedings.
3. If the parties are still unable to mutually resolve the dispute via the mediation process described above, then the matter may proceed to formal legal action or to trial in the South Australian Magistrate’s Court. The Parties acknowledge, however, that it is possible the court may merely refer the parties back to mediation. In the case of legal proceedings, the complainant agrees to reimburse The Proofreader (Anthony Hollick) for all expenses associated with the legal proceedings, including lawyer fees, court fees and any other fees necessary for The Proofreader (Anthony Hollick) to participate in the legal proceedings.
